ORLANDO, Florida (August 22, 2013)- Winter Park Construction (WPC), one of the nation’s most respected general contractors and leading multifamily construction companies has been selected by Madison Heights, LTD and American Realty Development to build Madison Heights Apartments, a low-income multifamily housing development for seniors and active adults ages 55 and over in Tampa, Florida. Designed by architects, Slocum Platts, this $11.4 million, 80-unit, 3- and 7-story combination complex is scheduled to begin leasing in Spring 2014. Financing has been provided by PNC Bank, N.A.

WPC will utilize their urban infill mid-rise experience in the construction of Madison Heights which will be built on a pre-existing paved “pay-to-park” parking lot directly across the street from the Marion Transit Center in the northern part of downtown Tampa. Just over 130,000 sq. ft., Madison Heights is to be constructed of post-tension concrete and metal stud framing with a stucco exterior, and will offer 6 floors of living units featuring 1- and 2-bedroom floor plans over a ground level parking garage. Adjoining the 7-story portion of this building is 3 stories of amenities including a swimming pool, cabana, putting green, shuffleboard, fitness center, game room, library, billiards, beauty salon, arts & crafts room and a theater.

Madison Heights Apartments joins the growing multifamily housing boom in the revitalization of downtown Tampa, FL and will be one of the first to address the affordable senior living and active adult demographic. Madison Heights will make the 3rd WPC ongoing project in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, all three of which are multifamily urban infill products, including Campbell Landings in St. Petersburg and Jefferson Westshore luxury apartments in the Westshore business district of Tampa.
